Cocoa Pod Chocolate is a purveyor of fine chocolate and cocoa products in Trinidad and Tobago. We produce and supply a range of cocoa products that are manufactured using traditional methods.
We produce both culinary and skincare products and are exploring the possibility of producing nutraceutical items that take advantage of the medicinal properties of the cocoa bean and shell, that are only now being scientifically investigated.

CULINARY PRODUCTS
At the Cocoa Pod, we specialize in using virtually every part of the cacao plant to produce a large range of products that are primarily made from cocoa and cocoa butter, including of course, chocolate.
We make traditional chocolate; that is, chocolate made from only two ingredients: cocoa and sugar.
We are constantly working towards unleashing the power of this beautiful bean, creating new and unique products from it, as well as perfecting the art of making even traditional products better, or more accessible to the modern consumer or connoisseur.
We are developing products that exploit the health benefits of this precious bean as well as those purely for taste and feel good effect.
We also make half of our products from raw, un-roasted cocoa beans, which retain all the health benefits of the cocoa, some of which would otherwise be lost in the roasting process. In fact we make raw and roasted versions of many of our products.
We use 'single estate origin' beans of Trinitario varieties only, from farmers in Trinidad who have been producing high quality beans all their lives. The beans are fermented traditionally, sun dried and hand polished, to yield the best tasting cocoa, with a wonderful chocolate flavour and intense fruity notes.
All our products are made to exacting standards without additives or preservatives, and are finished and packaged by hand.
Our CULINARY PRODUCTS include: Cocoa butter, powder and nibs — Chocolate liquor and couverture — Chocolate Bars and bonbons — Cocoa Liqueur — Chocolate Bitters — Cocoa flour — Cocoa Syrup — Chocolate Syrup — Chocolate/Nut butters — Fruit and chocolate spreads including Chocolate Pepper sauce and Traditional Drinking Chocolate.
Baked goods, beverages and desserts, all made with chocolate of course, are available daily in our shop.
SKINCARE PRODUCTS
We also produce a range of SKINCARE PRODUCTS utilizing cocoa butter as the primary ingredient of a micro-emulsion with coconut oil. The resulting product retains a buttery texture at room temperatures below 26 C (85F) even after repeated melting and cooling.
Our skincare line is created from this micro-emulsion by varying the proportion of cocoa butter and adding other oils for their therapeutic effect.
They include:
Butter Up Body Butter: Our micro-emulsion of cocoa butter and coconut oil for smooth skin and blemish removal.
Rub Down Body Polish: with finely sieved cocoa dust for exfoliating and rough skin removal, with lavender.
Sole Power Foot Scrub: with coarsely sieved cocoa bean shell with tea tree oil and peppermint, for a soothing anti-fungal foot massage.
Beard & Moustache Conditioner: with sesame oil, to nourish the hair and retard greying.
Hair on Down, Hair and Scalp Treatment: with sesame and annatto oils to strengthen hair and repel microbes and dandruff.
UnMask Makeup Remover: made with finely ground cocoa powder and our micro-emulsion of cocoa butter and coconut oil.
Bye Bye Bites Insect Repellant: with added citronella, eucalyptus, peppermint, lavender and neem oils.
Cut Away Healing Balm: with aloe vera and annatto oil.
All our skincare products are based on our micro-emulsion of cocoa butter and cold pressed coconut oil, no water is used, therefore no emulsifying wax or acid is necessary.
None contain preservatives and the only additives are essential oils of plants or herbs, that are in it solely for their health benefits; or other parts of the cocoa bean.
In fact, although not advised, most are actually edible.

All our products are produced from single estate Trinitario cocoa beans, recognized as the first and best of the fine or flavour cocoa, produced in Trinidad & Tobago.
The beans are carefully harvested, cracked, fermented, sun dried and hand sorted to ensure that whatever products they go into making, will be the best and tastiest products of their kind.
We are also hard at work developing new products, including medicinal ones, from our precious cocoa beans and helping spread the word that cocoa, called Food of the Gods, should now be known as Food for the Body.
